Meet the team

Maya, Dr. Beatrice, and Irinel in the orchard

what do a world renowned cardiologist,
an acclaimed photographer,
and a student of Buddhism have in common?

they make jam and syrup, of course!

Meet Dr. Beatrice, Irinel, and Maya. A three-generation team of grandmother, mother, and daughter working together everyday for a healthier, tastier world.

we aim to preserve the family recipes that have been passed down to us
from our grandmothers for the past 150+ years from Romania.

we reside and tend to our organic heirloom orchard in the Catskill Mountains in New York.

what started out as growing rare and unusual fruits for our own pleasure, grew into specifically choosing extra rare and hard-to-find fruits for our orchard to preserve these unique species and to use them freely in our jams and syrups.

some of the rare fruits we grow are black currants (also known as cassis), gooseberries, mulberries, red currants, elder-flowers, elderberries, and quince.

we believe that humans should only tread on nature while also nourishing it, so on our land we let nature do her thang! we do everything ultra-low impact, and only harvest the fruits that the ecosystem we have brought back into our orchard (aka birds, insects, and critters) has left for us.

new for 2021 is the addition of our ‘orchard chickens’ that roam freely all over the land and eat what they please. these lovely chickens then help us fertilize the ground, naturally.
